Four-wave mixing of 10 µm radiation in quadratic nonlinear crystals

Abstract

We report measurements of the effective nonlinear refractive indices of quadratic nonlinear crystals using four-wave mixing of a dual-frequency CO2 laser pulse. The contribution of second-order processes to the four-wave mixing efficiency is discussed.
