Probing finite-size effects and disorder in extended slow light photonic crystal coupled-cavity waveguides

Abstract

Slow light properties of Si photonic crystal coupled-cavity waveguides comprising up to 800 cavities are experimentally investigated using Fourier-space imaging. The influence of cavity chain length and disorder on slow light transport is elucidated.
