FDTD with an off-diagonal permittivity tensor component to study the magneto-optical effect in a slow light waveguide

Abstract

We develop and calculate the impact of the slow light effect on a magneto-optical isolator in a photonic crystal waveguide. We obtained an eight times larger isolation ratio in the slow light regime.
