Laser cooling investigation of a single-mode Yb-doped ZBLAN optical fiber

Abstract

A theoretical study on laser cooling of a single-mode Yb3+:ZBLAN fiber is presented. Strategies to maximize the cooling efficiency are highlighted. The cooling scales quadratically with the core and inversely with the cladding radius
