Performance analysis of surface plasmon resonance sensors in the spectral mode: polarimetric vs. intensity. What is better? and under which conditions?

Abstract

Recently we have proposed a new spectropolarimetric technique to extract the phase information in surface plasmon resonance sensors. Here, we present a detailed study of the technique together with comparison to the conventional intensity measurement.
