Noise reduction in Brillouin microscopy via spectral coronagraphy

Abstract

We have adapted the design of coronagraphs used for exosolar planet imaging to the spectral domain for high extinction Brillouin spectroscopy measurements. Our design enables spectral mapping close to reflecting interfaces without index matching or sample tilting.
