Microsphere Stabilized Plane-Parallel Resonators Fabricated via Convective Assembly

Abstract

An array of microspheres, situated near one mirror of a critically-stable cavity, stabilize the cavity at positions occupied by the spheres. Each microlaser in the resulting array exhibits strong mode confinement and unique spectral characteristics.
