Controlling Mandel’s Q-parameter in Disordered Lattices via Excitation-Symmetry Breaking

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate deterministic control of Mandel’s Q-parameter in off-diagonal disordered lattices while the mean photon number remains fixed. We achieve this by gradually breaking the excitation symmetry of the chiral mode pairs in a two-point coherent illumination setting.
