Experimental Validation of Nodal Aberration Theory with a Customized Ritchey–Chrétien Telescope

Abstract

To experimentally validate Nodal Aberration Theory, third order spherical, coma, and astigmatism are investigated in a custom Ritchey–Chrétien telescope with precisely controlled misalignments achieved with a secondary mirror mounted on a hexapod.
