Highly Birefringent PCF Based Micro-displacement Sensor Using Tapered Fiber

Abstract

We report a highly birefringent (HiBi) PCF based modal interferometer assisted with a tapered single mode fiber for micro displacement sensing. The displacement sensitivity of the low cost sensor is found to be 0.01 dBm/µm.
