Effect of a sinusoidal type modulation in the refraction index of a 1D photonic crystal

Abstract

The effects of a periodic modulation on the refractive index of the intercavity zone of a 1D photonic crystal with two cavities are studied. It is found that this mechanism allows to manipulate the coupling between cavities.
