Investigation of free charge carrier effects in silicon membranes

Abstract

Transmission signals from silicon membranes show unexpected nonlinear effects when irradiated with a femtosecond laser at 800 nm. The nonlinear behavior of the transmitted signals is explained using free charge carrier absorption (FCA) in silicon.
