Temporal Lenses for Three-Dimensional Electron Pulse Compression

Abstract

We propose an all-optical method of compressing electron pulses to attosecond durations and sub-micrometer dimensions using ultrafast optical pulses. Applications range from ultrafast electron imaging to coherent terahertz sources.
