Generalizing and extending Kubelka-Munk theory

Abstract

Kubelka-Munk theory approximates the flow of power through a plane parallel slab of a scattering medium. We derive it from the radiative transfer equation and generalize it to three dimensions for general boundary sources and non-homogeneous terms.
