Antenna Coupled Plasmonic Modulator

Abstract

We demonstrate direct up-conversion of a 60 GHz RF carrier onto an optical signal. The plasmonic modulator is seamlessly embedded in the RF receiving antenna. Therefore, neither electronic down-conversion nor electronic amplification is needed.
