High-purity Odd Mode Transmission in a Photonic Crystal Waveguide and Slow-light Mode Beating

Abstract

We demonstrate a novel scheme to control the excitation symmetry of an odd mode in a photonic crystal waveguide to achieve 20dB mode selectivity and investigate spectral signature. Slow-light mode-beating is utilized to determine the group index.
