Gap-Bloch States of Polariton Condensates in a Periodic Potential

Abstract

The nonlinear band structures and Bloch states of polariton condensates in a periodic potential are investigated. There exist Bloch states, called gap-Bloch states, inside the nonlinear band gap. The gap-Bloch state is an extended state, which is unique to the non-equilibrium polariton condensates and different from the localized state occurring in the band gap of the equilibrium condensates in a periodic potential.
