The Optical Phase and Single Frequency Fiber Amplifiers: Coupling Mechanisms and their Application

Abstract

In fiber amplifiers, time dependent influences on the optical phase increase the frequency noise. We review the coupling mechanisms and temporal dynamics of phase shifts introduced by pump- and seed-power modulation and present applications.
