Ultra-compact hybrid plasmonic directional coupler for on-chip optical interconnect

Abstract

We present the coupling characteristics of hybrid silicon plasmonic waveguide based directional coupler. The symmetric and antisymmetric supermodes are obtained at a wavelength of 1.55 μm with75% efficient light at ultra short coupling length of 2.12 μm when the separation gap is 60nm.
