Spontaneous symmetry breaking in photonic crystal fiber ring cavities

Abstract

We show theoretically that spontaneous symmetry breaking can occur in a temporally inversion-symmetric system consisting of a photonic crystal fiber ring cavity synchronously pumped by ultrashort optical pulses.
