Temperature-Compensated Fiber-Optic Current Sensor With Inline Faraday Rotator Mirror

Abstract

We present a low-cost fiber-optic current sensor employing a Faraday rotator mirror for passive phase biasing. A novel temperature compensation method for alternating-current measurements is demonstrated, exploiting the temperature dependence of the Faraday-mirror rotation angle.
