Sensing the Earth Crustal Deformation with Fiber Optics

Abstract

Fiber optic strain sensors with nano-strain-resolution for sensing the Earth crustal deformation have been developed. With the sensors, oceanic tide induced crustal deformation and seismic wave were successfully recorded in field experiments.
