Quantitative Analysis of Morphology Associated with Progression from Non-proliferative and Hyperplastic Ducts to Ductal Carcinoma in Situ in Human Breast Tissue

Abstract

Quantitative analysis of non-proliferative ducts, ductal hyperplasia, and ductal carcinoma in situ in breast tissue demonstrates that confocal fluorescence images display morphologic features associated with malignant progression that could be used to objectively identify DCIS.
