Properties of Bulk and Composite Chirped Volume Bragg Gratings in Stretcher-Compressor Schemes

Abstract

Manufacturing limits physical length of volume chirped Bragg gratings used for pulse stretching-compressing. We study theoretically performance of CBG composed of several pieces, demonstrating high tolerance to longitudinal chirp inhomogeneity, to phase steps.
