Quasi-Phase-Matched Four-Wave-Mixing Seeded by Modulation Instability in Slab-Modulated Silicon Nanowires

Abstract

We demonstrate how quasi-phase-matching via slab-modulation can be used in conjunction with modulation-instability to both broaden the modulation-instability sideband and seed additional enhanced sidebands for efficient four-wave-mixing. Enhanced sidebands exceeding 30 dB are shown.
