Cascaded coupling in asymmetric long period gratings in channel waveguides

Abstract

We present a novel concept of cascaded coupling achieved by a pair of non-identical long period gratings placed in the cladding of the channel waveguide structure. As an application, a broad-band transmission spectrum is demonstrated.
