Optical Force Induced Artifacts in NSOM Measurements

Abstract

We demonstrate that optically induced forces at moderate illumination intensities are sufficient to introduce artifacts in the measured topography, for example, in the vicinity of hot spots, thus leading to misinterpretation of NSOM data.
