Absolute Distance Measurement Using Long-Path Heterodyne Interferometer with Optical Frequency Comb

Abstract

A new heterodyne interference system with an acoustic-optical modulator and a piezoelectric transducer is presented to realize absolute long-distance measurement. The preliminary experimental results at 22.5 m show the reproducibility of 2 μm in an hour.
