Two-Photon Absorption at Milliwatt Powers with Rb in Photonic Bandgap Fibers

Abstract

We observe large enhancement of Doppler-free two-photon absorption on the 5S1/2 → 5D5/2 transition in Rb vapor confined to a photonic bandgap fiber. We estimate ~1% absorption with ~1 mW of power in the fiber.
