Abstract

For a collinear SPR sensor, the refractive-index-sensing range was constrained by marginal angle of the objective lens. Utilizing the interfering surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs), we demonstrated a new scheme to extend the measured range from 1.3 to 1.5 subject to an effective 1.45-NA microscopic system.
