Compact Organic Electro-Optic (EO) Modulator with Ultra Low Switching Voltage and Large Bandwidth Using Transparent Conducting Oxides (TCO) Bridge Electrodes

Abstract

We report a new promising voltage-size performance record (0.6V-cm) of the organic EO modulator using transparent conducting oxides as the bridge electrodes. The comprehensive theoretical analysis predicts large electrical bandwidth (>40GHz) is achievable.
