Introduction to Diffraction Limited X-Ray Optics

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We discuss the ability of optics to form x-ray images at or near the diffraction limit. These include diffractive optics, zone plates for soft x-rays and reflective optics for the extreme ultraviolet, collectively at wavelengths from 1 to 30 nm. Novel techniques for phase contrast and extended depth of field will be discussed.
