Multiple Exciton Generation in Silicon Nanocrystals

Abstract

We report the threshold for multiple exciton generation (MEG) in silicon nanocrystals is approximately 2.5 times the effective bandgap, Eg, and 2.7 excitons are produced per absorbed photon at 3.3 Eg.
