Abstract

Biocompatible plasmonic nanocrystals provide scattering, absorptive, and luminescent contrast for bioimaging, and act as photothermal therapeutic agents. We report DOPA-mediated self-assembly and surface stabilization of gold and silver nanoparticles with potentially functionalized PEG polymers.
