Malignant Melanoma: Identification Using Second Harmonic Imaging

Abstract

Structural abnormalities in the collagen architecture of biological tissues are detectable with second harmonic generation imaging. Recent pilot data suggest that malignant melanoma can be identified with SHG by specific changes in its optical signature.
