Abstract

Conjugated organic chromophores with large first hyperpolarizabilities exhibit strong two-photon-resonant hyper-Raman scattering. The resonance Raman and hyper- Raman spectra and excitation profiles together provide structural and energetic information about overlapping electronic transitions in these molecules.
