Ultrafast Science with Attosecond Optical Pulses

Abstract

Isolated attosecond XUV bursts are generated as high harmonics of few-cycle laser pulses. Electron and ion detection techniques unveil the evolution of electronic processes in the interior of the atomic shell with unprecedented temporal resolution.
