Slow Light Engineering in Photonic Crystals

Abstract

Narrow bandwidth and strong dispersion are crucial issues for slowlight. We discuss wideband dispersion-compensated slowlight in photonic crystal waveguides. An average group velocity of c/40 is experimentally demonstrated in a 6 THz bandwidth.
