Dependence of the Degree of Polarization on the Degree of Coherence in Stochastic Electromagnetic Beams

Abstract

We will show that two light beams may have different degrees of polarization, even though they have the same sets of Stokes parameters in the source plane. Reasons for this will also be discussed.
