Abstract

Photonic nanowires exhibit broad regions of anomalous group-velocity dispersion and large effective nonlinearities allowing for efficient pulse self-compression. Experimentally, we demonstrate self-compression of 30-fs pulses to 2.93 fs, which corresponds to 1.1 optical cycles.
