Improvement of the Sidemode Suppression Ratio of External Cavity Laser

Abstract

A new method to improve the SMSR of the ECL is proposed and demonstrated. The ECL combined with a grating-assisted coupler as an external mirror exhibits single-longitudinal mode oscillation with SMSR of 60dB without additional devices.
