Coupled-resonator optical waveguides realized on a 8-fold symmetric photonic quasicrystal.

Abstract

We propose the realization of waveguides using Photonic quasicrystals, which are materials showing a bandgap even in low index materials. Using this materials and coupled resonators, waveguides with interesting transmission properties are obtained.
