Doppler Lidar Using Coherently Locked Dual Frequencies

Abstract

A tunable microwave subcarrier on an optical wave is generated by the nonlinear dynamics of a semiconductor laser for Doppler lidar measurement. This new technique is capable of accurately measuring velocities down to 10 μm/s.
