Abstract

The laser technology that represents a promising route to manufacturing portable femtosecond and picosecond fiber sources is based on a high modulation depth semiconductor saturable absorber mirrors. The mode-locked regime was achieved for different values of cavity dispersion and in a broad spectrum ranged from 900 to 1600 nm. Using nonlinear frequency conversion, short pulses in a visible and ultraviolet spectral range were demonstrated.
