Abstract

In this paper we focus under a theoretical point of view on spun fibers and in particular we analyze how periodic or constant spin profiles affect the PMD properties of a fiber. Moreover, we introduce a measurement technique based on polarization sensitive reflectometry that allows to control the quality of the spin process.
