Abstract

For uniform plane wave readout of a volume hologram recorded using orthogonally propagating uniform plane waves, the undiffracted and diffracted orders are known to be expressible via Bessel functions. Here, we analyze profiled beam readout of this hologram by deriving the spatial transfer function in the presence of propagational diffraction.
