Quantum information processing with trapped atoms

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Neutral atoms are natural candidates as the keepers of quantum information given their weak coupling to the environment and the rapid advances in laser cooling and trapping technology. Optical lattices provide an excellent arena in which to begin implementing the requisite quantum logic gates in a scalable architecture.
