Abstract

Experimentally and in simulations we study the propagation of off-axis optical vortices in diffraction-free Bessel beams. We observe a breakup of the non-generic edge dislocations upon interaction with the vortices. In the asymptotic limit of infinite propagation a Bessel beam of different order with non-generic dislocations is generated.
