Abstract

We review the work on high power fiber laser systems. Basic limitations have been overcome by applying novel fiber design and experimental strategies. Therefore, a significant power scaling of fiber laser systems is possible resulting in ultrahigh brightness continuous-wave, high energy nanosecond and high peak power ultra-short pulse laser radiation.
