Angular momentum transfer in vortex and non-vortex beams using optical tweezers

Abstract

Both orbital and spin angular momentum of light can be transferred to microscopic objects, resulting in their rotation or alignment. We show several methods for achieving the momentum transfer between different types of light beams and objects and discuss possible applications.
